The liquid sunshine of Southeast Alaska has returned! Guests woke up early this morning surrounded by a thick fog at the entrance to LeConte Bay. Trusting their licensed Zodiac captains, they ventured into the mystery landscape to break into a clearing containing rainforest and massive grounded icebergs. These latter behemoths were perfect examples of what helped bring about the founding of Petersburg – dense glacier ice is perfect to harvest and use when packing fish for storage and shipment.
After a delicious brunch, guests experienced a true Alaskan downpour en route to dock walks, muskeg walks, photo walks, and mountain hikes. Ending the day with an all-you-can-eat fresh Dungeness crab buffet, everyone will sleep very well tonight.
