National Geographic Sea Bird dropped anchor at Los Islotes as the first rays of the sun illuminated the red volcanic rocks. We witnessed a magical wildlife occurrence as flotillas of hundreds of Mobula devil rays fed near the surface around the vessel. California sea lions were active and playful as we snorkeled and cruised with them throughout the morning.

The beautiful, protected bay known as Ensenada Grande was our afternoon destination. There were opportunities for stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and walks to explore the natural history on Isla Partida.

We returned to the beach for a sunset cocktail party, bonfire, s’mores and piñata before dinner on board.
