Snorkeling with California sea lions was such a delightful way to start the day. We were thrilled to see how active they were this morning. When they were not twirling around us under the water, they were leaping right out of it!
Zodiac cruises also explored Los Islotes in Espiritu Santo National Park. Both the sea lions and the birdlife put on a show, with blue-footed boobies, brown pelicans, and magnificent frigatebirds soaring above us.
Back on board, we enjoyed brunch and our naturalist’s presentation about the bird life of Baja California Sur.
The evening included a visit to the city of La Paz and a fantastic live cultural performance of dance and mariachi music. The sunset was extraordinary over the Gulf of California, and a three-course dinner in a local restaurant enabled us to savor the authentic flavors of Mexico.
