Our adventure started six days ago on board the National Geographic Sea Lion, full of feelings and with high expectations as we visited remote areas in Panama & Costa Rica.

After having a great experience in Corcovado National Park, with big biodiversity in fauna and flora, we arrived today to an area with more development, but still preserves the beauty. Manuel Antonio National Park is considered the smallest national park in Costa Rica, but is the second most visited. This national park injects money into the economy of the country and local people have the opportunity to show the biodiversity of this national park.

Our commitment is to support the local people so we hire three local guides (Karen, Wilfredo & Mop) to show us the park and they took us through different trails. We had the opportunity to see mantled howler monkeys, white throated capuchin, black iguanas, snakes, crab eating raccoon and we couldn’t miss three toed sloth and two toed sloth. One of the groups had the opportunity to see thirteen of them!

We returned back to the ship for lunch and the galley had prepared a Mexican taco bar buffet and the best part was the ice cream bar with different toppings. Our hotel manager opened the global market one more time for our guests who wanted to have the last souvenirs of our ship.

We had one more opportunity to return to the beach for the afternoon. Many of our guests went for their last minute tan. They all enjoyed the beach to the maximum.

It is so funny to see that when you are having a lot of fun, time flies by. It seemed it was “yesterday” when we just came onboard. Now our trip has come to an end. As we gathered later in the evening in the forward lounge, we just commented how a great day in Manuel Antonio it had been and remembered all the great places we had visited on our voyage.
