Before casting off, we had an opportunity to jump into the bustle of early morning Phnom Penh. Along the water’s edge was a chair yoga class, an industrious street sweeper, and hundreds upon hundreds of scooters and various other forms of wheeled transport buzzing about.

After a short visit to the Wat Phnom temple, we returned to Jahan and cast lines to continue our navigation south on the Mekong River. We crossed the “meeting of the waters” and the delineation of the muddy Tonle Sap and the blue Mekong was as good as finding a dotted line.

Our day ended with the sun reflecting off the many floating fish houses lining the Tan Chau canal. Welcome to Vietnam!
