We woke to calm waters in the Lynn Canal, surrounded by the misty peaks of the Chilkat Range. After breakfast, we anchored the National Geographic Sea Bird and went ashore to hike through the temperate rain forest and expanses of wildflowers in Moose Meadows. Some of us also explored the mouth of the Chilkat River by cruising around on expedition landing craft and landing on remote beaches.

The weather continued to spoil us throughout our afternoon with sunlight streaming down from above and light winds blowing in from the south. We continued to sail south towards Haines through the evening, passing a colony of sea lions and the Eldred Rock lighthouse on our way.

Just before we all headed off to sleep, a stunning sunset stole our attention and provided quite the finale to a day of endless scenic photography and breathtaking views.
