Today was a beautiful and moody day here on the Columbia River. We woke up to cloudy skies, but energy was high as we shuttled over to shore. We took a short bus ride to one of the highlights of the trip, Multnomah Falls. This is the highest waterfall in Oregon and one of the biggest attractions in the state. We took beautiful photographs and hiked up a trail to the bridge. We took a short ride to the Bonneville Fish Hatchery, where we learned about salmon and sturgeon and their role in the ecosystem.

We then had a beautiful farm-to-table lunch at Crag Rat Hut, which overlooks the orchards of the valley, before driving a short distance to visit a farm and sample fresh apple cider and fruit. We headed to WAAM, a large hanger facility filled with antique cars and planes, before returning to the ship. The clouds cleared, and the sun poked out. It was a beautiful evening on board for cocktails and dinner. This was an amazing day, and we’re looking forward to more to come.
