After five days transiting the Antarctic Peninsula it wasn’t until this morning that we set foot on the continent proper. Calm conditions, light snow, and vocal gentoo penguins ushered many onto their seventh continent and all of us into this beautiful part of the peninsula.

While the cloud cover dropped, the beauty didn’t let up for a second between Neko Harbor and Paradise Bay, our afternoon stop. Equally calm conditions and heavier snow shadowed our Zodiac cruises which took us around every shape of ice imaginable, as well as near a very rare sighting, a mother leopard seal nursing with her pup! Antarctica at its best.
