Today on this crisp, raining morning, we set our anchor at Pavlof Harbor for some hiking and kayaking activities. Initially, the weather was uninviting; but often in Southeast Alaska, the rain didn't last long. A break in the rain revealed a fantastic opportunity to explore this beautiful stream system of Chichagof Island. We happened to arrive at the slack low tide, revealing the whole intertidal zone. This allowed our kayakers to see the creatures who usually reside below the water’s surface.
