National Geographic Sea Lion spent the morning at Pavlov Harbor looking for bears. The salmon seem to be returning to the rivers late this year, and there were no bears to be found. We enjoyed the warm sun and resplendent forest birds.  The divers, meanwhile, had a wonderful dive in the rich waters of Pavlov Cove.

In the afternoon we sailed to our final destination of Sitka and were rewarded with a group of bubble net feeding humpback whales. We spent almost an hour watching these giant leviathans chase herring to the surface time and again. Then, just before recap, we spotted a pod of killer whales making their way through Chatham Strait.  It was a fantastic afternoon and a wonderful way to finish an incredible week in Southeast Alaska.
