A split breakfast is a complicated maneuver onboard a ship. It’s an early morning operation that must be logistically perfect to operate correctly. No one can argue that the split breakfast at LeConte Glacier fjord in Fredrick Sound was not a success. The beautiful early morning light illuminated the icebergs that had grounded themselves on the soft bottom with a blue glow. Killer whales passed through the entrance of the fjord to the thunderous click of camera shutters and bald eagles roosted in the nearby timbers. We repositioned during lunch to the fishing town of Petersburg and spent the afternoon exploring a nearby muskeg, the local fishing docks, the town and even taking to the air for a scenic flight in the stunningly beautiful weather.
