This morning, early risers had the option of venturing out to the waterfront with photo instructor Emily Mount and naturalist Max Seigal to catch the sunrise before breakfast. We explored the streets of the capitol city Phnom Penh and were rewarded with beautiful morning light. This made for some top-notch photography. In Phnom Penh, the markets buzz with activity before the heat of the day sets in, which was very exciting to be a part of.

Once back on the Jahan, we set sail for the Cambodia-Vietnam border. After several involved days exploring Cambodia, the casual afternoon that followed the busy morning at the market was surely welcomed. We spent our time on board Jahan learning about Khmer culture, taking the cruise manager’s tour of the ship’s engine and its finer mechanics, and even hands-on cooking instruction for authentic Vietnamese and Cambodian fare.
