This morning offered beautiful views of Port Althorp. Some of us took to kayaks and paddleboards in the protected cove, while others explored the mudflats and nearby hills by hiking. The undersea team made a dive at the base of a small island at the mouth of the bay, where they observed several lion’s mane jellies and even a large feather star.
After some light Mediterranean fare, we hoisted anchor and set off for the Inian Islands. As we explored the islands dotting the entrance to the Inside Passage, we were awed by Steller sea lions, sea otter mothers holding their babies, dozens of bald eagles, and even humpback whales lunge-feeding in the swirling tidal eddies.
