The ship was flying last night with winds and current coming in from the aft, and that meant we reached Prins Christians Sund early in the morning instead of around lunchtime as expected. So, what better way to spend that extra morning than a Zodiac cruise in front of a spectacular glacier! Waterfalls, rainbows, and ice were our reward for going out.
Later, we continued to make our way through this narrow fjord system, sometimes only 500 meters wide, with steep and high mountains surrounding us. The beauty was beyond words. The afternoon was spent hiking on a landing full of flowers, with needle-sharp mountains guiding us through a valley towards the glacier. Our guest speaker, Minik Rosing, shared his knowledge about Greenland geology as we were standing right in the middle of it, and this made it even more interesting than it already is.
