The last full day of the trip was packed with adventure. National Geographic Venture set anchor just offshore from Puerto Gato along the peninsula of Baja California. The morning started out with a variety of hikes through the desert landscape. There was also plenty of opportunity to kayak in the protected waters or, for the well balanced, to stand-up paddleboard. Lunch was served back on board the ship and then it was back out to explore. The clear waters around Puerto Gato are filled with sub-tropical fish and the beginnings of a coral reef. The day ended with sunset drinks and appetizers on the sundeck.
