The day started at 6:00 am, when several explorers decided to opt for the early morning wake up. As we boarded the Zodiacs, a cool breeze touched us, and after landing, we started the walk along this relatively easy trail. On one side flamingos gracefully walked through the brackish water lagoon, their heads in the water and constantly sieving water in to brine shrimp that give them their beautiful pink color. We reached a white sandy beach, used by marine turtles to lay their eggs, where several blue-footed boobies were fishing. A beautiful yellow crown heron kept following us along the edge of the water, as if asking to be photographed!

After breakfast, it was time to get into the sea, and snorkel among the beautiful Galapagos sea life. Others decided for a more relaxing outing, and enjoyed the sea life from the glass-bottom boat. We saw sea lions, angel fish, and sharks, all in the same place, coexisting peacefully. Several sea lions decided to join the snorkelers and swam around the group. There was no need to ask how it was; the expressive eyes of the divers returning to the Zodiacs communicated the wonder of the whole experience.

In the afternoon as we visited Post Office Bay, where we had the opportunity to mail some postcards and letters using an old barrel, following the old tradition established by the whalers several centuries ago, in which mail will be hand delivered to the final destination.

It was a busy afternoon after our visit to the barrel. Kayakers and paddle boarders paddled around the bay—it was a great opportunity to get closer to sea lions, rays and sharks. The day closed with a spectacular sunset, as the sun moved right between the clouds and slowly dove into the sea. What an incredible day in the Galapagos.
