Today, we awoke at the most southeastern point of Galapagos, San Cristobal Island. This administrative capital of Galapagos has a population of 10,000 and is home to Punta Pitt, a nesting site for blue- and red-footed boobies. As we walked along the dramatic cliffs of Punta Pitt, we had many close encounters with nesting red-footed boobies and courting blue-footed boobies. The rest of the morning was spent at a beautiful olivine beach with a playful colony of Galapagos sea lions. In the afternoon, we visited Cerro Brujo, a white-sand beach with turquoise waters, a beautiful way to end a week of exploration in Galapagos.
