The last full day of our expedition brought us all the way to the eastern region of the Galapagos. Today we started our day at Punta Pitt, a popular site to spot an iconic species that we were still missing on our trip, the red-footed booby. We had two options of excursions, hiking all the way up the tuff cone or exploring by Zodiac. Our guests were thrilled to see these beautiful birds up close, many of them perched in the bushes, nesting, or flying around.
After the hike, we enjoyed time at the beach swimming with sea lions before returning to National Geographic Endeavour II to have a Galapagos lunch, made with ingredients produced 100% on the islands.
In the afternoon we sailed to Cerro Brujo, one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world, and we ended the day with a spectacular sunset while navigating around Kicker Rock.
What an amazing day and a spectacular week we had in the Galapagos!!
