It was a beautiful morning with clear skies and calm waters. We anchored at Academy Bay and in the distance we could see houses, other ships and water taxis. The expectations were high for the day with the morning visit to the Giant tortoise breeding center, the walk through the cozy and colorful town of Puerto Ayora and a meal in a scenic restaurant.
Today was hot, so the visit to the Highlands was a nice respite. We enjoyed the pleasant breeze at “El Trapiche” farm, the sampling of the local products was part of our visit and we also had a great opportunity to see the Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat!
