This morning we disembarked in Puerto Ayora, the largest settlement in the Galapagos Islands, located at southern shore of Santa Cruz Island, in the center of the archipelago. We visited the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center of the Galapagos National Park, the Charles Darwin Station, and a giant tortoise natural reserve. While we walk among Galapagos giant tortoises we learn about their biology, behavior and their importance in Darwin’s Theory of evolution. Another wonderful day onboard National Geographic Endeavor II.
