Last night the National Geographic Islander sailed from the Post Office Bay to Academy Bay on the southern shore of Santa Cruz Island. We started our day visiting the Charles Darwin Research Center and the “Fausto Llerena” Giant Tortoise Rearing Center, both located on the outskirts of Isidro Ayora port. After some free time in town we left for the highlands where we visited a lava tunnel and a small sugar cane and coffee plantation before lunch.

Lunch awaited us at the Manzanillo Ranch where we also had a chance to see Giant Tortoises in the wild.
