Santa Cruz Island is the second largest island in the archipelago, and is home to the biggest town in the Galapagos Island. We spent our day here, visiting the tortoise breeding center in the morning, and later visiting a local farm to see the artisanal processing of coffee, alcohol, and other products from sugar cane.

In the afternoon, we went to another farm where Galapagos giant tortoises pass through from the tortoise’s reserve to the upper moist zone of Santa Cruz Island. In this area, these animals find lots of food and water. We saw many tortoises roaming freely—this was our tortoise day!
