We started our interesting day visiting one area of Santiago called Espumilla Beach aboard the National Geographic Endeavour II.  This location is on the west hand side of the island exploring the coastal zone surrounded by mangroves, which play an important role in the ecosystem producing shelter to many of the animals in the Galapagos Island such as Darwin finches, large billed flycatchers and under these mangroves nesting areas of the green pacific sea turtles.  This morning was cloudy and fresh. We did other activities as paddle boarding and kayaking with our guests who enjoyed this early visit.

Later on, we did other activities as snorkeling experiencing another world in the Pacific Ocean, looking colorful fish as the bicolor parrot fish, king angel fish, streamer hogfish and the most exiting ones as the white tipped reef sharks and sting rays.  All this experienced we had it at Buccaneer’s Cove a place or pirates and whalers that visited Santiago during the seventeen century.

After lunch, we sailed in direction to Egas Port.  The weather conditions did change a lot and after a while, it was sunny.  We did again snorkeling and swimming activities from the beach. We had very good conditions, clear, and calmed waters for both activities.

One hour later, the next group disembarked just for a hike along the beach which was an amazing place  for everybody now that we could see a variety of animals such as marine iguanas basking in the sun that looked as statues without moving much around us and interacting very little with the rest of the creatures around them.  We sow the grottos and caves where Galapagos fur seals where they were getting ready to start its nocturnal abilities hunting at night avoiding in this way a competition with the sea lions that are morning feeders. We also sow herons, sally light foot crabs and many yellow warbles.

We sow some of the pregnant sea lion females nursing their young ones with the last sunrays of the day.  At sunset when the light was ideal for taking pictures. We had a splendorous sunset with sea lions around us.
