Today we succeeded finding our endemic flightless bird from the interior, the Galapagos penguin. Today we visited Sombrero chino in the morning and Sullivan bay (Santiago Island) in the afternoon.
We woke up for breakfast to reveal ourselves surrounded by black lava and turquoise water. Zodiac ride searching for the Galapagos penguin and everything the islands can offer. Soon after, water activities like snorkeling, kayak and going to an intimate white sandy beach just for us to enjoy.
Back onboard for lunch as we navigate to our next destination. Our expedition leader Vanessa Gallo had an inspiring presentation about Darwin, adaptation and the Galapagos; then we started our disembarkation for a walk on the “moon”.
One and a half mile walk over brand new lava with small pioneer plants and insects colonizing a new ecosystem.
