Today, we learned a bit about our surroundings by visiting Sombrero Chino Island, a spatter cone formation just off the coat of Santiago Island. After an informative morning of geology, flora, and fauna discoveries, we headed to Sullivan Bay which has a relatively fresh lava flow. It may take some time before this area starts to populate as the other islands have, but it was interesting to see and learn about early colonizing plants and animals.
