Already we are on our 6th day of expedition and one might think we couldn’t possible encounter anything else that’s new and exciting, but aboard the National Geographic Islander there is more in store! We are still amazed! Today we started our activities with a Zodiac ride looking for some penguins and other wildlife in the area. Clear waters and warm temperatures were the best combination to jump into the water and enjoy Galapagos marine life. Sea stars, white tip sharks, fish, and penguins surrounded our group!

During our afternoon walk on Sullivan Bay we felt as if we left Galapagos and started walking on a different planet, the lava flows that we saw were amazing. Here we saw how Galapagos looks like our planet from the past and we learned about the importance of the pioneer plants, like the lava cactus.
