Today we visited the small islet of South Plaza during the morning. The islet offered an excellent opportunity to spot Galapagos land iguanas which actively fed on the opuntia prickly pear cactus fruit and pads. We also saw a Galapagos sea lion bachelor colony and a very active roosting site for swallow tailed gulls, boobies and pelicans.
During lunch, we sailed southeast to Santa Fe Island for some kayaking and paddle boarding activities. We hesitated in leaving the inquisitive sea lion pups we encountered to move inland, but this decision proved right as we saw rare Santa Fe Land Iguanas basking on rocks along the trail.
As a final activity, a small group of guests hiked up a nearby cliff to a plateau that overlooks the bay.
