Today we visited the little island of South Plazas, located to the East of Santa Cruz Island. This island is an upheaval, and we can clearly see the evidence that this was once the sea floor.
Its landscape is spectacular, today we enjoyed great weather conditions and excellent lighting for photography! Here we were surprised by the sight of a short-eared owl, as it was guarding its pray, a Galapagos shearwater. We found along the trail many Galapagos land iguanas and swallow-tailed gulls, some with their chicks. It was an incredible morning. In the afternoon the National Geographic Islander was repositioned towards Santa Fe Island, where we saw the unique Santa Fe land iguanas and a Galapagos sea lion colony. It was an awesome day, full of experiences and memorable moments.
