In August 1880, John Muir visited Sawyer Glacier in what is now known as Tracy Arm – Fords Terror Wilderness and he referred to it as a “wild unfinished Yosemite.”

“Domes swell against the sky in fine lines as lofty and as perfect in form as those of the California valley, and rock-fronts stand forward, as sheer and as nobly sculpted. No ice-work that I have ever seen surpasses this, either in the magnitude of the features or effectiveness of compositions.”

No words can better describe this place than John Muir’s quote. What a perfect day; glacier, ice, waterfalls, mountains, goats, bears, whales, and capped off with a rainbow. Let our adventure continue in this majestic place called Alaska.
