Today we explored a beautiful and narrow tributary of the Ucayali River, that in the low water season allows our skiffs to go deep enough to find many bird species in the first daylight hours. The morning outing ended with a very interesting walk in the forest near a small village, where we heard that nearby they had seen the smallest species of monkey in the world. We had the amazing opportunity there to see the pygmy marmoset.

In the afternoon we went kayaking and paddleboarding along another tributary full of fishing birds. Later, we explored deep into this river looking for monkeys. We came back as the sun was setting, looking for caimans along the way. There was a storm forming far in the distance in front of us. We could see huge clouds lit by the moon, and we could hear the distant powerful thunder.
