Today we explored two wonderful sites on Isabela Island, located in the western area of the Galapagos archipelago. We started our day with a visit to Urbina Bay, which at this time of the year presents a wonderful green tone dominating the whole landscape. One of the highlights of this walk is the presence of giant tortoises and land iguanas walking close to the trail. Additionally, flowering plants and a great number of finches gave us many chances to keep improving our photographic skills. After the walk, everyone had the chance to enjoy the beach and take a refreshing swim. In the afternoon, we navigated to Tagus Cove, where we had many options to explore, including kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling and hiking.
This area is a great place to look for some endemic animals of the Galapagos, such as the Galapagos penguin and the flightless cormorant. After admiring the astonishing landscape and beautiful creatures living in Tagus Cove, we finished our day with a great stargazing session. We also had the opportunity to see the world premiere of a movie trailer done by our Global Explorers, called Galapagos Unplugged. We ended a magnific day with a great smile, thankful for this time in the islands.
