For our second day in the western part of the archipelago, we explored the coast of Isabela Island with two fantastic visiting sites. Urbina Bay offers a unique shelter for the Galapagos tortoises on the coastline, when this animal is typically found in the lush vegetation at the summit of the volcanoes. It is a unique opportunity to see them in their natural habitat. The land iguanas are also common here.

Tagus Cove is not only a safe anchorage that hold the memories of several chapters of the Galapagos human history, it is also a safe harbor for the Galapagos penguins, the flightless cormorants or the blue footed boobies.

With such a program for the day, this promising exploration spans ahead of us!
