Today's expedition took us deep into the enchanting meadow of Ushk Bay, located in stunning Southeast Alaska. Our objective was to explore the intertidal zone and meadow, following bear trails and immersing ourselves in the remarkable natural beauty and biodiversity of this remote location.

The day began with a sense of anticipation as our group of seasoned hikers set foot upon the rocky landing site. The path we followed was primarily composed of bear trails, winding through the succulent sedges of the estuary and revealing an intimate glimpse into the lives of the magnificent creatures that call this place home.

As we ventured further toward a salmon stream, we encountered numerous signs of bear activity, including fresh tracks, scat, and fish remains. It was a humbling reminder of the wildness and untamed nature of this environment. Our group maintained a respectful distance along the shore, ensuring we did not disturb any resident bears.

Throughout our hike, we were captivated by the symphony of natural sounds that enveloped us. The gentle rustling of leaves, the melodic songs of shorebirds and eagles, and the soothing rush of Ushk Creek created a calming ambience, reminding us of the tranquility that can only be found in the heart of unspoiled nature.

As our expedition drew to a close, we couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience such a remarkable place. Our hike in Ushk Bay provided us with a profound connection to the wilderness, leaving us with memories that will forever linger in our hearts.
