Today we visited Väderöarna, or the Weather Islands, a archipelago off the west coast of the Swedish province of Bohuslän. The waters around the archipelago are home to both gray and common (harbor) seals, as well as a variety of birdlife including barnacle geese, cormorants, guillemots, oystercatchers, eiders, and gulls. The islands also have an interesting human history as a station for because of the intensive shipping activity that has taken place in the surrounding waters since medieval times.
