We disembarked early in the morning. Our skiffs pierced the thin mist near the riverbank, and after few minutes, one of our guides spotted a couple of red-bellied macaws flying. We searched the forest and observed a group of squirrel monkeys playing among a canopy of trees.

Once back onboard, our galley staff prepared a delicious breakfast which energized us for our later activities. We spotted several king vultures and black-collared hawks resting on the top of trees. Everywhere you looked, the jungle was teeming with life, colors, and sounds.

El Dorado River is a small tributary of the main river Ucayali. We explored the creek on skiffs, the best vehicles to maneuver through the very narrow channels in this amazing place. Pink dolphins were seen near some submerged branches and seemed to be playing as they swam circles around one another.

We continued our exploration along El Dorado River with its dramatic landscape of very tall trees and crystalline waters which reflected the beautiful orange tinted sky. What a great way to finish a fantastic day.
