Today we planned on an early pre-breakfast outing, but we had to wait out the rain onboard the ship. On the riverbank, we spotted an iguana right next to the ship. It was the perfect opportunity for pictures. Later in the morning, we explored a hidden lagoon next to Yanayacu River. We navigated through the floating vegetation and found an abandoned horned screamer nest. We could see eggs from up close.
In the afternoon, the crew offered classes on making pisco sours. Guests enjoyed the experience while the Amazon rain fell. After lunch, we went out looking for wildlife. We encountered a caiman lizard basking in the sun after the rain. We also found a woodpecker in its nest. It remained in front of our cameras for a long time. We ended the day with a refreshing swim surrounded by pink dolphins.
