Baja California Culture and Cuisine Pre-Voyage Extension

Extend Your Adventure in Baja California

Long known for its beautiful beaches and biodiverse waters, the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula is emerging as an enticing culinary and cultural destination. On visits to some of the region’s most vibrant cities and towns, explore the local sustainable food scene while sampling traditional dishes derived from fresh seafood and the desert’s surprising bounty, and witness the merging of old and new artistic traditions as we peruse museums, galleries, street murals, and more.

This extension can be taken before select departures of Wild Baja California Escape: The Whales of Magdalena Bay or Baja California Discovery: Exploring Mexico's Gulf of California.

A post-voyage extension is also available. View here: Baja California Culture and Cuisine Post-Voyage Extension

Day 3 - La Paz / Embark Ship

Today we’ll visit a local art gallery that works closely with the LEX-NG Artisan Fund. This initiative empowers artisan communities by offering training programs, supplying workspaces and equipment, issuing grants, and educating our guests on the value of buying handmade goods. Later join a walking tour of historic downtown, including stops at a historic Jesuit mission, an art museum, and the magical Malecón. Enjoy a delicious lunch in the historic and well-preserved pueblo of El Triunfo before visiting fascinating museums that tell the story of this former silver mining town.
