Day 1 - Portland and Willamette Valley
Meet your guide at 8:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Marriot Waterfront Hotel before heading out to the "crown jewel" of the Oregon State Park system, Silver Falls State Park. Begin your day with short walks to visit two stunning waterfalls before continuing to the Willamette Valley Wine Country. Award winning wineries such as Bjornson Vineyards, Bethel Heights, Winter's Hill, Hyland Estates, and Laurel Ridge are among the 400+ wineries and tasting rooms that have contributed to the prestige of the region. This afternoon, visit two of these wineries, each representing distinctive elements of the Willamette Valley, and pouring pinot noir, the region's specialty. During the tastings learn about the art of viticulture from an expert guide and sometimes the winemakers themselves. A locally sourced lunch is included. In the evening, explore Portland's restaurant scene independently. With so many well regarded restaurants, the real challenge will be narrowing it down to one. (L)
Day 2 - Portland
Portland, also known as The Rose City, is Oregon's most populous city and host to a foodie culture that refuses to quit innovating and never disappoints. Join a guided tour of the city's must-see highlights. Take in the iconic views of Portland and surrounding volcanic peaks at the historic Pittock Mansion and wander the endless garden beds of the city's world-famous Rose Garden. Dive into the city's food scene at a coffee presentation paired with local specialty donuts. Enjoy a hosted lunch with a diverse menu at one of the city's most established food cart pods—there are over 1,000 carts in Portland, so we'll take the guesswork out of this must-try experience. Along the way, explore the neighborhoods and Portland's four main quadrants: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest. Each quadrant has its own distinct feel and unique attractions including art galleries, boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and performance spaces. The tour concludes at 3:00 PM at the Marriot Waterfront Hotel where guests will transfer to ship for embarkation. (L)
