Under Sail

The ships Sea Cloud & Sea Cloud II sailing together at full sail

Medieval walled cities and crumbling hilltop forts, emerald slopes and sparkling turquoise coves—the treasures of timeless destinations like the Mediterranean and Caribbean are seen in their full splendor when exploring aboard a hand-sailed ship from the Sea Cloud fleet. Few experiences on the water rival the sheer joy of sailing on a masted tall ship, where nostalgia imbues every deck and cabin, and the prevailing winds chart your course through a bygone era. Join National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions aboard the most beautiful vessels at sea today—the historic Sea Cloud and her modern counterpart Sea Cloud II—and set off on a timeless journey, where your transportation is as intriguing as your destination.

There is nothing sacrificed by having a traditional relationship with sailing. This is the height of luxury. And the height of luxury these days—in many ways—is the ability to get away from it all.

Under Sail Expeditions

The Expedition Team

Guests traveling aboard the Sea Cloud fleet enjoy the immersive programming that is the hallmark of a National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions voyage, including the guidance and expertise of your expedition leader, historians and certified photo instructors. You will also have access to the captain and crew members, who are eager to show you the art of their daily work among the ropes, winches and cleats. One of the great joys of these voyages is witnessing the theater of these spirited sailors climb the rigging, loosen the heavy cloth and haul the lines in from the deck as they raise and lower the sails by hand.
