Today we visited a privately owned wildlife reserve adjacent to the main river. Led by our expert local naturalist guides, we explored more of the tropical rainforest from ground level, beneath the thick diverse canopy. Along the trail, we also walked a section with suspension bridges, where we could see the forest floor from above.

In the afternoon we explored some of the tributaries of the Amazon. We had some beautiful sightings of birds not often seen, such as the violaceous jay, and the capped heron.
