Expedition travel means having a backup plan and making the best of any situation. It’s not often that we need to change course on our plans, but today that was the case for the Calabrian port of Rocello Ionica, which was closed due to political and administrative activity. Instead, we spent the day at sea.
Fortunately, Sea Cloud is a ship you would want to be on in such a situation. Captain Komakin tried to make it up to us all by allowing a rare opportunity for guests to assist in the sail-handling, which made the day for many of us.
