National Geographic Orion spent a peaceful day sailing across the Pacific Ocean towards New Caledonia with brisk winds and following seas. The day started with a fascinating presentation by Tua Pittman, our Cultural Navigator, on human settlement in the Pacific. In the afternoon, Mike Greenfelder, Undersea Specialist, gave an engaging presentation on, “Top Ten Reef Fish Families.” The day was capped off with cocktail hour and recaps by the expedition staff, which helped build excitement for our adventures at New Caledonia.
