Today, National Geographic Orion made her way through the expansive Southern Ocean toward the Auckland Islands. We spent a calm day at sea observing what bird life gracefully passed by the ship and learning about interesting topics in the lounge from the naturalist team.

In the afternoon, we completed one more round of biosecurity. This ensured that all our outdoor gear was free of seeds and unwanted materials before our exciting explorations in the Auckland Islands. The day came to a close with a fascinating recap and a delicious dinner served by the talented galley team. Tomorrow, a full day of activity awaits us in the Auckland Islands.
