We started the day with an early invigorating walk to the top of Bartolome Island. The highlight of this walk was the outstanding views, with remarkable volcanic formations such as spatter cones that we found along the way. We had an amazing view of Santiago Island where we could see two lava flows of different age. We finished the visit to this island with some relaxation time on the Pinnacle Rock beach, where we could snorkel and contemplate the iconic tuff cone.
After a delicious lunch, our young explorers had the chance to work on a movie-making project, where each child had the chance to learn the process of creating a story, record it and edit it to present it after dinner on board National Geographic Endeavour II.
In the afternoon, we went for an amazing snorkeling outing at Chinese Hat, where we swam with white-tipped sharks and Galapagos penguins in the water. We finished the day with a Zodiac ride along the coast of Chinese Hat, where we spotted penguins resting in the rocks and other birds such as brown pelicans, Galapagos hawks, blue-footed boobies and Nazca boobies.
