We arrived in the central part of the Galapagos Archipelago and we are having a great time exploring and photographing the magnificent creatures and landscapes. Here in the Galapagos everyday is a new experience full of exciting encounters!
Today we had a pre-breakfast outing. We boarded our fleet of Zodiacs to explore a small volcanic island called Bartolomé. This island is young with few living forms struggling to survive. These creatures are snakes, lava lizards, some insects and small plants that tolerate the typical droughts and the heat of this region.
Today we had a great snorkeling outing because it was not just fish that surrounded us. As we explored the shallow waters we had close encounters with sea lions, penguins, sharks and eagle rays!
In the afternoon we landed on Rábida Island. This island is located on the southern side of Santiago Island and here we explored the undersea world with our snorkeling gear. This was an incredible experience due to the abundance and variety of fish.
Later on we landed on the iconic red sand beach and went for a walk and took beautiful photographs set against the red land. Walking along the beach is one of the best activities you can do on Rábida Island and the beach is just perfect for watching wildlife at sunset.
It was a great day!
