The day began with fog, light snow, and a breeze as we sailed into Terror Bay, greeted by an arctic hare. Despite reduced visibility, meticulous scouting allowed guests to visit the historic Beechey Island graves before lunch. This site, a key location in Arctic colonial history, is the resting place of three men from Sir John Franklin’s 1845 Northwest Passage expedition.
After lunch, we navigated to Radstock Bay, where the impressive Caswell Tower looms over the landscape. In the afternoon, we landed to explore the Thule cultural sites. Hiking groups branched out for various excursions. The long hikers completed a circuit around Caswell Tower, experiencing the rugged beauty of the area.
