After a great transit across Panama Canal, we were ready to begin our adventure on the Pacific Ocean, we finish our coffee and decided to visit Bona Island, one of the most important nesting areas at the bay of Panama for sea birds, the rocks at this island let us see the great volcanic activity that occur millions of years ago during the formation of the isthmus, our boat driver bring us close enough to see the action, they were birds all over.

The birds made quite a show for us they were so many that we really don’t know where to look first! Some were calling others collecting nesting material or plunging near our dibs. For about and hour we learn about the behave of several of those birds,  the most incredible of all we saw was the display of the males frigatebirds with his bright red pouch trying to get the attention of the females, looks like every male is competing furious to look good!

After the great birding experience of the morning,  we navigate in direction of Iguana Island and our way was full of surprises , golden Rays yellow bellied sea snakes and Dolphins complement the travel even a hammer head shark was seen by one of the naturalist, every one enjoy the talks about everything we saw.

Finally we arrive to the next island and the water was perfect, several people went to enjoy a swim others explore the island with me. On some parts of the trail were visible some huge red land crabs, so red like the pouch of the frigatebirds. It was a great day and we are just starting the trip. Let see what tomorrow brings.
