Community visits have definitely been highlights of our time in the Northwest Passage and Cambridge Bay offered us yet another unforgettable experience. We were once again amazed by the kindness and genuine nature of the people living in these remote environments as they welcomed us warmly into their home.

The morning was spent exploring the town by foot and enjoying local delicacies. In the afternoon, some of us enjoyed a wonderful arts and crafts workshop at the heritage center, others went to look for birds with our Naturalists Doug and Shelli, while some others joined a tour with the father of one of our cultural ambassadors, Tanis, or visited her greenhouse.

With heavy hearts we said goodbye to new and old friends. One thing is sure, no heart was left untouched by the kindness of the people that welcomed us and showed us a glimpse of their community and culture.
