What a day! We started on board National Geographic Quest, hanging around with at least sixteen bubble-netting humpback whales. As everyone worked to get photos to identify the whales, our undersea team dropped the hydrophone, so we could listen to them as they herded their fish together for a meal.

The afternoon was full of more wildlife. We watched a mother brown bear and her three cubs, found some playful sea lions, and observed tons of jellyfish in the water. In the evening, our undersea team went for a scuba dive, and our guest speaker, Dr. Andy Zabo, came aboard to present his research on humpback whales.

As the day winded down, the wildlife did not stop. We had orcas swimming around the ship and into the sunset on another fantastic day in Southeast Alaska.
