With the first light of day, our guests woke up to the wonderful rainforest at the mouth of Oxbow Lake. We departed for a short excursion to search for dolphins, and we found grey river dolphins! They were busy fishing between the mouth of the Oxbow Lake and the Ucayali River.
After breakfast, we continued our exploration. We moved much deeper into the green forest to a location known as “Flor de Castana,” which is the name of the flower of the Brazil nut, a tree visible in our surroundings.
Later in the morning, we had a fantastic talk about the exotic fruits of the Amazon. Our guests enjoyed learning about and tasting these unusual fruits. In the afternoon, we kayaked along the Supay Creek. Later, we explored farther into Supay Lake. We observed as numerous species of birds and monkeys used the forest canopy as a highway.
